2017 Swan? by Moquette VolanteStarting with the classic “the Ugly Duckling”, and drawing from her own experiences in an adoptive world, artist Kristin Ward brings to life the tale of one “strange duck” and her quest for belonging. Laugh, cry and dance as the main character – Essie – learns that to find where you belong, sometimes you have to look with your heart.
About the Company Kristin Ward is a multi-faceted theatre artist who has been working in theatre since 2000 and dancing professionally since 2004. In 2008, she founded Moquette Volante Theatrical Dance Company as a way of bringing these two loves together. Since then, she has produced, written and presented over two dozen tales, performing at venues such as the Three Rivers Storytelling Festival, Pittsburgh International Children’s Festival, and the First Niagara Rochester Fringe Festival.
