Journey to a world of honor and glory, of magic and war as Storyteller Alan Irvine brings the legends of King Arthur and his knights vividly to life with three classic tales. In “The Sword in the Stone,” an unknown boy, not even a knight, must prove his worthiness to rule the land. In “Sir Gawaine and the Green Knight,” Arthur’s worthiest knight faces a mortal test of his truth and courage. Finally, a knight in the service of Mordred begins to wonder if he has made the right choice in siding with the usurper against the king in “The Last of the Round Table.”
About the Performer: About the performer: Alan Irvine has entertained audiences with his stories for almost 40 years, telling ghost stories and folk tales and legends of great heroes. A life-long fan of the Arthurian tales, Alan first began telling them at the Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival long ago. His recording “The Red Dragon: Tales of King Arthur” won the 2007 Storytelling World Honors for Best Recording. “The Last of the Round Table,” is his newest tale, performed for the first time at the Pittsburgh Fringe.
