A one-woman show based on performers who have left Russian in protest after the invasion of Ukraine. Performed with either English or Russian language options, and starring Monica Hunken (English language version) and Maria Tyminski (Russian language version). About the Company/Performers: Monica Hunken (Performance in English) is a Brooklyn-based theater performer and rabble-rouser. She has toured around the world (mostly by bicycle) with her solo performances at Australia’s Horse’s Mouth Festival, the Netherland’s DeParade Festival, Norway’s PIT festival, the Glastonbury Festival in England and many others. She is a founding member of theater collective, Al Límite and sings with anti-fascist punk band ATP and Funkrust Brass Band. Maria Tyminski (Performance in Russian) is a Russian-British actress who has worked in both film and theatre in the UK, Finland, and Russia. She has been arrested several times for speaking out for human rights and peace in Russia. In 2022, she became a part of an initiative that helps artists from Russia and Ukraine move abroad.
Milton Coykendall (Director) has written and directed plays in New York City, Chicago, and New England. He has an MFA from Brandeis. He taught acting at The Gene Frankel Theater, The Playwrights' Center of Chicago and at Emerson College. He is very happy to be involved again with the Pittsburgh Fringe Festival once again.
