Live - World Premiere! Rating: PG-13 Genre: Dance/Physical Theater
Our daily lives compress ourselves like the pixels in images we upload everyday to social media. How can we de-compress and release without losing information, without losing ourselves? In this semi-improvised dance piece with original music we explore this. Also, audience members are free to join in to move (respecting boundaries of Luis and the other dancers) during the performance! About the Company/Performer(s): Luis Zul is a multi-medium movement, visual and musical artist originally from Mexico based in Pittsburgh. Artist statement:
I like hanging out.
Hanging out my limbs on silk. Hanging out my threads on canvas. Hanging out clothes to dry. Hanging my limbs while dancing. Hanging out with my friends scheming, planning. Hang my vocal chords on stage. Hang my words on paper tugging between the table and the heart.
I hang out my entrails beautifully, gracefully for the world to see. And tie them all with them, bringing them closer than they'll ever imagined to be. Local: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
